Ascension Texas operates a network of 14 hospitals and 120 care sites across Central Texas. Employing more than 16,000 associates, our areas of care include women’s health, pediatrics, cardiovascular care, orthopedics, and neurosciences.
Ascension Texas is celebrating its 120th anniversary in providing compassionate, personalized care to all, with special attention to persons living in poverty and those most vulnerable. We strive to expand access to high-quality, low-cost, person-centered care and services. And we continue to invest in infrastructure growth as we build new clinical programs and teams to help the people of Central Texas stay close to home for their healthcare needs.
As part of our mission, our organization has provided more than $540 million in charity care and community benefit in the past year. During the pandemic, we have continued to focus on the importance of relationships, teamwork, and collaboration. For instance, we have provided more than 200,000 COVID-19 vaccines in our Central Texas community and work to serve the healthcare needs outside the walls of our hospitals by providing community investments for organizations aligned with our mission, such as DivInc, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, Starflight, Lone Star Circle of Care and American Heart Association.
Ascension Texas is growing alongside the ever-increasing population of Central Texas. We have a number of projects underway including the new women’s tower at Ascension Seton Medical Center, a fourth bed tower at Dell Children’s Medical Center, an additional Dell Children’s Medical Center North location in Williamson County and an orthopedic expansion that includes nine new locations that will make Ascension Texas the largest provider of orthopedic and sports medicine in the region. We are also expanding upon the options available to Central Texans in the area of transplants and advanced cardiovascular care, so that individuals can receive care close to home. These initiatives include a new Adult and Pediatric Abdominal Transplant Center and a new Institute for Cardiovascular Health, both in conjunction with The University of Texas at Austin and its Dell Medical School.
Ascension Texas is dedicated to transformation through innovation across the continuum of care, and we look forward to learning from and connecting with the members of Austin Technology Council.
