7/21-7/24     Project Management Fundamentals Workshop
     

This non-technical workshop focuses on fundamentals of project management as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI). These concepts are delivered in a "building block" approach that coaches students through the logical series of activities that are required in the initiation, planning, execution, control and closeout of a typical project. Key areas covered include: scope development, schedule development, cost estimating, risk management, communication management, performance reporting, and project change management. This course will teach you how to deal with and minimize missed dates, crisis management, scope creep, budget overruns, and unknown status.

 Entrepreneurs Workshop 2009  

The Austin Chapter of the Rice Alliance, the Austin Technology Incubator, and the Central Texas Angel Network are pleased to announce an eight-week Entrepreneur’s Workshop that will cover the basics of starting and growing a successful business.

The Workshop will meet weekly over an eight-week period and will be conducted in a classroom environment. Each weekly session will be taught by experts in their respective fields, including entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, private investors, CEOs, attorneys, accountants and marketing executives.

At the end of the program, participants will be required to give an elevator pitch about their business plan to an audience of potential investors, partners and mentors.

Medical Technology in China

 

Grace Chen, the Chairman and CEO of Oceansoft is organizing a project to build a bilateral relationship between South Central Texas and China in the field of medical technology. Part of this project will be to establish a fund of approximately $50,000,000 from China that can provide funding to sponsor developments of particular interest to the Chinese and US medical community.


The first step will be a series of bilateral meetings in Taipei, Chongqing, Hangzhou, and Nanjing with the main objective to understand the feasibility and refine the opportunities and needs of the participants.
Grace is deeply involved within Taiwan and China pertaining to medical services and understands the sourcing and outsourcing services opportunity.
